Circulation Services the Hannon Library

Requesting from SOU

Books & Audio-Visual Material

Hannon Library users can request to have eligible items paged from the shelf and made ready for pick up at Hannon Library, or any of the three RCC campuses. Requests are submitted by logging into the Hannon Library Search.

Requests for items that are currently checked out are subject to a recall period, and it is recommended that you request the items through Summit or Interlibrary Loan first.

Hold Shelf Period: Items that are not picked up within 5 days (print) and 3 days (audio-visual) will be returned into circulation.

Journal Articles & Book Chapters

Hannon Library offers a free "Scan & Deliver" service for current SOU students, faculty, and staff. Requests for locally owned articles or book chapters should be requested through Interlibrary Loan and are delivered electronically via email.

We strive to deliver items within 24 hours, excluding weekends. Copyright limitations apply. Requests over 50 pages, or that amount to 20% of an entire work, cannot be fulfilled.

Requesting from Another Library

Summit

A combined catalog of 39 libraries in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, and Idaho). Summit libraries lend print and audio-visual materials, and generally arrive within 2-5 days. Articles, book chapters, and other items not available locally or through Summit, should be requested through Interlibrary Loan. Available for SOU faculty, students, and staff.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If not available at SOU or via Summit, library items may be requested from libraries worldwide. Available for SOU faculty, students, and staff.
